Who Are the Friends?

The Friends of the Troy Public Library is a non-profit organization founded in 1958. The Friends have been actively supporting and promoting the Troy Public Library for over 50 years!

The Friends organization is hundreds of members strong with over 70 dedicated volunteers participating regularly in fundraising activities. Volunteers come from all walks of life and are of all ages — from high school students to retirees.

The Friends income is generated from these sources: The Book Shop, the Friends Shop, Membership Dues, and Gifts.

The Friends organization has a tradition of giving.  It is a fiscally sound and proven performer with a record of significant contributions to the Troy Library, Troy community and its neighbors.  We are an inclusive, forward-thinking group that has been instrumental in making the Troy Public Library an Award-Winning Library!
